Review after the first month
I started practicing conscious breathing every morning, in the park on the edge of town, a month ago. I didn't have high expectations, but after the first few days I felt a clear difference in my mood. Ten minutes of deep breathing under the crown of an old oak tree became my favorite ritual.
At first, it was hard for me to concentrate. My mind would wander to my to-do list or my phone screen. But gradually, I learned to notice the rustling of the leaves and the play of light through the branches. I realized how much tension I was accumulating in my shoulders and jaw during the day, in front of the computer. Deep breathing helped me release that tightness, and the relaxing walks became a moment of reconnection with myself.
I discovered that correct posture while walking makes a huge difference. When I align my spine and let my shoulders drop relaxed, my breathing becomes more natural and deeper. Carefully observing the landscape – from the color of the leaves to the smell of damp earth – helps me stay in the present. I no longer feel the need to check my phone during the walk.
After a month, I can say that this practice has brought me a mental clarity that I haven't felt in a long time. My daily stress has reduced considerably, and my mornings are now calmer and more balanced. It is a simple but deeply transformative habit that I recommend to anyone who feels the need for a moment of respite amidst the urban hustle.
"Ten minutes of breathing under the canopy of trees completely changed my perspective on the day. Now I no longer start the morning in a hurry, but with the peace of nature." — Eng. Claudia Antal
